Knoch Girls' Soccer Wrap-Up

Knoch Varsity Girls' Soccer made the 2-hour bus ride to take on South Park in the first round of the WPIAL playoffs on Wednesday night. The first half saw both teams get a few chances in front of the goal, but both goalies came up with saves in big moments. South Park was able to strike just before the half when a corner kick was deflected in with just 3 seconds to go. Knoch fought back in the second half of the game. Kamryn Burtner received a volleyball around half field and beat two defenders before calmly placing a shot to the back post. South Park was awarded two penalty kicks in the second half, but Hannah Klemm came up clutch, stopping both. Knoch forced the game into overtime. With just a few minutes left, South Park got onto the end of a free kick and finally was able to get one by Klemm.

The Knights finished their season with a gutsy performance and were just inches away from moving on to round 2 of the WPIAl Playoffs.

Congrats on a great season!
