Student Assistance Program

The purpose of the Student Assistance Program (SAP) is to recognize barriers to learning and design interventions to maximize academic success and monitor their effectiveness. SAP often assists students with academic and attendance concerns.

SAP Example Interventions:
 
  • 1:1 follow up with SAP team member
  • Tutoring and academic supports
  • Mentoring
 
 
SAP is also available to assist in identifying other issues which pose barriers to a student's success, including alcohol, tobacco, other drugs, and mental health issues.
Community supports, when applicable:
 
  • Mental health screening
  • Drug and alcohol screening

A student can be referred to the program by a teacher, parent, the students themselves, or another student. Any parent who feels their child could benefit from the program or would like more information should contact their child's school counselor or a building administrator. SAP is a parent voluntary program.
