Alan Hooks - Academic Chemistry/Lab

Welcome to Academic Chemistry! My name is Mr. Hooks and I teach Academic Chemistry at Knoch High School. I have taught chemistry in the district since 1993! I received my Bachelor’s of Science in Secondary Education with a Certification in Chemistry from Clarion University of Pennsylvania. Before I started teaching at Knoch High School, I worked in a research laboratory at Alcoa Technical Center. I also became Adjunct Faculty at Seton Hill University to teach College in High School Chemistry for a few years while simultaneously teaching AP Chemistry. I was Assistant Science Club Adviser for more than a decade, taking students to the Pennsylvania Junior Academy of Science competitions at the local and state levels. And, I have designed a laboratory experiment for a science company that is currently available for teachers worldwide to use in both a first year, and an advanced chemistry class.
