Course Description
This course will provide depth and enrichment through the use of vital content related to social studies, science, music, and art. Throughout the course, emphasis will be upon the acquisition of language abilities and skills as developed through a sequential program of writing, reading, and discussion of contemporary problems that involve the student. An intense concentration of English literature will serve as a basis of comparison to comparable problems that the student now faces. Other major content areas include intensive studies in grammar, public speaking, vocabulary, and research. The course’s objectives and assessments are aligned to the Pennsylvania State Standards for Reading, Writing, Speaking, Listening, and Research.
